Memorial Day weekend, the start of summer and my favorite season in the Valley! Each week, I take a look at events and happenings in The Valley and choose three things that look adventurous from Aspen down to Glenwood Springs. Here are my picks of the week:
Memorial Ski & See @ Aspen Mountain | May 27-May 29, 2017
Celebrate Memorial Day with either skiing or sightseeing up at the top of Aspen Mountain!
Bonus summer skiing on Aspen Mountain. Discover 130 acres of terrain with the Ajax Express lift spinning for skiing from 10:00am – 2:00pm and the Silver Queen Gondola will be running from 10:00am – 4:00pm for sightseeing. Sightseeing tickets are 10% off through June 4! The Aspen Mountain Ticket Office is open Saturday - Monday from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Basalt Pet Parade@ Basalt Elementary School | Tuesday May, 30 2017 @ 2:00 pmIf there is a pet anything, I’ll cover it! Head on over to Basalt and look at all the adorable pets in the pet parade! Parade starts at the Basalt Elementary School (Cottonwood Drive) and ends at Lions Park. If you are walking, meet at 1:30. Dress your pup up and win a prize for best costume! No pet? No problem. Come out and watch the parade! Hosted by Basalt Middle School and Colorado Animal Rescue.
Planet Earth II: Diaries @ Belly Up Aspen | Wednesday, May 31, 2017 @ 7:00 pm

There are two shows to see Planet Earth II: Diaries 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm and the cost is FREE. The diaries take a look at the behind-the-scenes perspective from the Planet Earth II film crew as they document the amazing stories featured in the film, Planet Earth II. The film itself features Sir David Attenborough narrating a compelling view of the planet and was the first natural history documentary to be filmed in HD. 96% “Liked” Score on Rotten Tomatoes.
