Snowshoe/Uphilling
There are many trails and tours that offer snowshoe and uphilling. Additionally, All mountains offer the opportunity for visitors to skin or snowshoe up. However, each mountain has it’s own policies so be sure to review them before you head out.
Ashcroft Ski Touring operates out of the Ashcroft Adventure Lodge at the end of Castle Creek Road. At the Adventure Lodge, you may rent classic cross-country ski equipment, skate ski gear, or snowshoes. Individual and group lessons, as well as snowshoe and ski tours are available everyday. The winter season runs Thanksgiving day until early April.

ACES Snowshoe Tours:
Travel along mountain streams, over ridgelines, and through beautiful valleys in the Aspen area while learning about mountain ecology on ACES' (Aspen Center for Environmental Studies) naturalist guided snowshoe tours. Each winter, daily snowshoe tours are offered on top of Aspen Mountain, Snowmass Mountain, and at the Ashcroft Ghost Town. Check back in October for complete information.
